To go to Jesus' baptism site you have to enter a military zone because it is so close to the border. There were a lot of fences but rather then put gates on them they just cut wholes rolled it back so that tourists would have a path. It made it all feel like they could set them all back up in a fairly permanent way rather quickly should the need arise. The Jordan river Baptism pool and one of the few spots you can actually touch the Jordan river without fear. You can see the Israeli flag on the other side of the river in the background.
