Can you believe we’re nearly rounding the corner to the third trimester? I certainly can’t, and I’m living with a baby on board daily – I can only imagine what it’s like to not see us in the flesh. Actually, below you’ll see my photos from the last five weeks, but my friends here would tell you I look more pregnant in real life than I do in these photos. I think the difference is both in what I’m wearing and the fact that all these photos are pre-breakfast.

Aside from what is just now starting to be an actual baby-bump montage, you may also notice the new-to-us consistency in backgrounds. Burke and I finally settled into baby’s first apartment and are thrilled to have our very first home of our own in almost a year! It’s a huge blessing to know baby will come into a safe, clean and loving space.

Fun facts from the last few weeks

What I’m enjoying: Eating tons of leafy greens again, swimming, feeling Baby squirm

Aversions that seem like they’ll stick around: Chocolate chip cookies, chocolate covered fruit, parmesan cheese (specifically the Kraft variety), basil

Cravings: Cold, non-sweet dairy (cheese/greek yogurt). This is either a pricy or non-existent thing in Thailand, so unfortunately, this craving will continue to go unfulfilled.

Total pounds gained: About seven pounds up from my first first pre-natal weigh in at four weeks, or 13 total including what I lost during the extra-queasy early weeks.

Number of ultrasounds: Three so far, but the next one is tonight!

What can be heard most often around our home: “Baby’s so huge right now.” Burke sometimes gets in on the fun and says it too, but once (and only once) he slipped and said “You’re so huge right now.”

Number of name possibilities: One that I love, two that Burke likes. Still up for suggestions.

What I’m wearing: Dresses, skirts, tank tops and a pair of maternity shorts I snagged from the gap for $2. Nothing more, nothing less.

What I’m not wearing: The two pairs of maternity pants I scored at a thrift store in AZ. They were a steal, but what was I thinking?! It’s so HOT.

Symptoms: I put on my running shoes, i.e., shoes I was used to seeing my feet in, and couldn’t believe how huge my ankles have become! I hadn’t noticed the swelling since I live in flip-flops. I like to describe it as a cankle meets muffin top.

Biggest baby-brain moment: Somehow allowing us to move into an apartment complex with no on-site washing machine. I had a distinct “memory” of seeing the laundry room on our tour, but now that we live there, it doesn’t exist. Still not sure what to do about this one.

Also, this was on the blog last time, but I added it after the email went out, so I know most of you probably didn’t see it. We created a Baby Pool where you can submit your guesses on what baby will be like upon entering the world!
